Tube & U-Channel Miter-Cutting Jig

This lightweight miter-cutting jig is straightforward and easy to use.

Equal cuts can be made by positioning the adjustable stop which is tightened down with the lock screw.

Miter-Cutting Jig for Tubing, Channel, Wire and Plate

This tube & channel cutting jig has specifically been designed for jewelry making purposes.
It is precise, and can be used on wire, tubes, flat and channel stock with lighter gauges and smaller diameters often used by jeweler's.
The adjustable stop is interchangeable on both the 45° and 90° sides and locked in position by a screw.
Lengths of up to 60 mm can be measured by the stop.
The adjustable stop has been placed so as to not interfere with the saw blade when sawing.
The hardened tool steel guide was designed so that the saw blade or file doesn't hook on the steel guide edge.
The sliding lock clamp holds down the metal stock while cutting and filing.

Tube & Channel Cutting Jig - Functions

The jeweler's cutting jig has a self-centering v-groove for tubing and wire stock to be cut at 45 degrees on the one end and 90 degrees on the other end.
On the opposite side of the v-groove is the flat slot for flat plate U- or square channeling up to 7mm wide with a choice of 45 or 90 degrees cut.

Jeweler's Tube & Channel Cutting Jig - Easy to Use

To use this cutting jig, set the adjustable stop to your desired tubing length and place the tubing in the v-groove on either mitered or flat side.
Tighten the sliding lock clamp down to hold the tubing in place.
Use the hardened steel tool guide set the jeweler’s saw flush against it and saw through the tubing.
The advantage about this jig is that you can sand or file the cut tubing while it is still in the jig to perfectly finish it off with a minimum of effort.
The steel faces of these jigs have been hardened to 66HRC which is about as hard as this tool steel can be made.
As a result of such hardness, saw blades and files do not bite into the tool steel.
Rather, there is a sliding affect which does not affect the file at all.
However, it is recommended that used files be used when smoothing the metal down.
